My wife and I hired Kilmurry Development to renovate our kitchen in October of 2010. The project soon turned unto a first floor renovation as we were extremely pleased with both the quality of work in the kitchen and the speed at which the work was completed.

We had two fears going into the project 1.) that the cost would exceed the price quote we received and 2.) that the project would take longer than the project duration we were quoted (with three small kids, we wanted to minimize the time spent living in the basement/2nd story). The final price of all renovations actually came in below what we were quoted. The project was completed in a timely manner despite the involvement of several different contractors(Mr. Carey was on top of all parts of the project).

Mr. Carey and his employees also played a vital role in offering up opinions on various items. These opinions did not necessarily result in a higher cost, but certainly enhanced the outcome of the project. I appreciated the way that Kilmurry Development offered up advice – it was never pushy, but well thought out. Both neighbours and family have employed Kilmurry Development after seeing the results of our renovation project. We also look forward to engaging them again in the near future for more enhancements to our home.

This letter is in reference to my experience working with Kilmurry Development and Gerry Carey. Gerry was the general contractor and project manager for the development of my custom home at 521 N. Ashland, Park Ridge. The project started on 12/30/2008 and completed 8/7/2009, 2 weeks ahead of schedule and on budget.

The reason we chose Gerry was based on his ability to process and interpret our vision better than any other GC we spoke to and the quality of other homes he had previously built. The biggest decision making factor for us was the immediate comfort factor we had regarding his integrity – his commitment that he would build our home as if it was his own. Our confidence in him was justified.

Gerry did an outstanding job managing all the complexities of the project and ensuring that quality of the structure and all the finishes were top class. Based on his experience he also suggested several enhancements to the design and layout that improved the functionality and aesthetics of the home. He managed all of the sub-contractors in a very disciplined fashion and secured good value from all of the trades he contracted. I have no reservation in recommending Gerry to any of my friends or family for their construction projects. I would use Gerry if we were to build again, without hesitation.
